  This was our first trip to Cooper's Beach, and we were not expecting to eat here as Southampton has many very good eating establishments...but as is usually the case when on the beach we got unexpectedly hungry.  For a beach cafe it is well organized - you order your food inside, the line is rambunctious but orderly, and after you pay you go outside to wait to pick up your food at the window, so it's not too crowded.  They will give you a box to carry your stuff in, if you ask.  They also will sell you a large cup of water or ice for $1 cash, which we liked.
  
  The food of course is over-priced.  But we knew that.  We chose the fried fish sandwich since at around $9 it might be a good value and actually fill us with food and not junk.  I had to wait a very long time for them to make it - at least 20-30 minutes which is long when you'd rather be sitting on the beach.  The fried fish fillets were thin and tiny.  The sandwich was overstuffed with iceberg lettuce, but at least the rolls were soft and fresh.  It came with a choice of mayo or tartar sauce from packets, and it did fill us at least until we could get some dinner.  I would consider this more of a snack shack than a cafe, but it was clean and close-by.

  Was curious about how the reviews could be so bad for a casual beach snack shack type thing, until I went in to buy my friends some ice cream bars. They have scoops available, or a cooler like you'd find at a bodega or gas station with the classics like haagen dazs bars. We chose three and took it to the register, where the lady ringing us up was the most confused person I had ever come across in my life. She was staring at our three ice cream bars in my hand, yet asked a million questions: "Is that a hagen dazs bar? Is it almonds? Is it chocolate? Are you buying two of those? Four?" Lady, you're literally staring at the items, I don't understand! After far too much time spent this way, she let us know that the total was $27 and change! Yes folks, they charged over $9 per cheap ass ice cream bar. I stared at her because I thought it must be a mistake (plus her confusion made me think maybe she'd rung it up wrong after her interrogation). Her response? "Welcome to Southampton."
  
  Now, I'm guessing this lady isn't the one setting the prices so I can't get mad at her if this is how much they actually charge but (1) I'm not even 100% confident that this was the correct price because she was so confused and out of it and (2) I don't care if we're in the Hamptons or not, $9 for a grocery store ice cream bar is just unacceptable and the owners need to realize this!

  New Management is awful and Rude!! Bring your own lunch not worth the ridiculous prices this year and it's awful quality !  Everyday this new management changes the time they close the restrooms it's says 530 but depending on his mood this week it has been 500 and 515 with his customers asking what is going on and his reply that he decided to close the bathroom rooms early ?? Who does that but this idiot !!

  I'm used to paying ridiculous up charge  prices in the Hamptons but this place takes the cake...and icing...and your firstborn....
  
  I bought a Hal's seltzer and it cost me $5.68 here.  I bought a case of it for less than $0.79 each w tax.  That's 720% markup from retail!  Save your $ and bring a cooler w water, soda, fruit and items that don't melt / go bad.  I'd only splurge on ice cream as the food there is terrible and is way over priced.  A few years ago they had a very good vendor who ran it but the last 2 summers have been so awful and way too expensive - the village should ban this vendor from running it!

  First day of new management from what we we told so I'll give leeway on the horribly long wait for food to arrive - over an hour!!!  But the prices were unbelievable!! Yes this the Hamptons but the markup they are taking is just blackmail!
